Since joining the team in 2020 Rachael has worked on national social innovation programmes. This has included gathering UK-wide insights and learning on rapid Digital Health innovation during the pandemic, supporting the Palliative and End of Life care sector to explore how to improve everyone’s experiences of dying death and bereavement; and collaborating with the Lived Experience team at NHS England to develop a learning programme to support people to facilitate strategic co -production with lived experience and people in systems.
Before coming to Nesta, Rachael worked across the not-for-profit, public and private sectors in the UK and overseas. She has experience of developing cross-sector partnerships, digital health service development and delivery, and campaigning and influencing for person-centred service design. Past roles have focused on diabetes, sexual and reproductive health, youth empowerment, global knowledge-sharing and community development.
Outside work Rachael has a passion for volunteering with a mental health charity. In her spare time she enjoys making travel plans, playing netball and negotiating the city on her bike.
