Community Led Transformation/Rhaglen Drawsnewid a Arweinir gan y Gymuned

“If we can empower communities to take more control of their lives things will change. Listening has made us realise the potential we all have..”.

Wales has a strong history of community action – a tradition that’s been thrown into sharp relief in recent times, first with the floods then the global pandemic. In this context, WCVA and voluntary sector leaders came together with People Powered Results to work with community groups to explore:

How voluntary organisations and statutory services can support communities to develop capacity to respond to challenges and opportunities to build a fairer, greener, healthier future.

A transformation programme focussed on practical action was launched in June 2021.

With PPR support, three very different teams examined their own aims and reflected on what they thought would help community action thrive. Each team had a unique perspective:

  • Credu in Powys worked with carers to co-design innovative care
  • Llanrhian in Pembrokeshire aimed to connect diverse communities
  • Cwmbwrla in Swansea met local needs by organising events and activities

Programme teams identified as vital the need for voluntary and statutory partners to create trusting relationships that empower action and co-production by listening to local groups.

“Os gallwn rymuso cymunedau i gymryd rhagor o reolaeth o’u bywydau, bydd pethau’n newid. Mae gwrando wedi gwneud i ni sylweddoli’r potensial sydd gan bob un ohonon ni …”.

Mae gan Gymru hanes cryf o weithredu cymunedol – traddodiad sydd wedi dod yn amlwg iawn yn ddiweddar, yn gyntaf gyda’r llifogydd ac yna’r pandemig byd-eang. Yn y cyd-destun yma, daeth CGGC ac arweinwyr o’r sector gwirfoddol ynghyd gyda Canlyniadau Pŵer Pobl i weithio gyda grwpiau cymunedol i archwilio:

Sut y gall mudiadau gwirfoddol a gwasanaethau statudol gefnogi cymunedau i ddatblygu capasiti i ymateb i heriau a chyfleoedd i adeiladu dyfodol tecach, gwyrddach ac iachach.

Lansiwyd rhaglen drawsnewid yn canolbwyntio ar weithredu ymarferol ym mis Mehefin 2021.

Gyda chefnogaeth Canlyniadau Pŵer Pobl, archwiliodd y timau gwahanol iawn eu nodau a myfyrio ar yr hyn roedden nhw’n credu fyddai’n helpu gweithredu cymunedol i ffynnu. Roedd gan bob tîm safbwynt unigryw:

  • Bu Credu ym Mhowys Credu ym Mhowys  yn gweithio gyda gofalwyr i gyd-ddylunio gofal arloesol
  • Nod Llanrhian yn Sir Benfro oedd cysylltu cymunedau amrywiol
  • Roedd Cwmbwrla yn Abertawe yn diwallu anghenion lleol drwy drefnu digwyddiadau a gweithgareddau

Nododd timau rhaglen ei bod yn hanfodol bod partneriaid gwirfoddol a statudol yn meithrin perthnasoedd o ymddiriedaeth sy’n grymuso gweithredu a chydgynhyrchu drwy wrando ar grwpiau lleol.
